December 2005: North Tyneside and Newcastle Primary Care Trust has made an initial purchase of identrica subscriptions to allow staff to access sensitive information while working away from their desks.
"We have had a lot of interest from PCTs and other healthcare organisations recently," said identrica Business Development Manager Terri Roberts. "In situations where staff have to visit patients or work outside their normal offices, it's essential to be able to provide really secure access because the information involved can be very sensitive. identrica is ideal because they don't have to carry separate 'tokens' – just their normal mobile phones."
identrica's managed service model is also attractive for IT managers, since there's no hardware to purchase or administer, no on-site authentication server to look after and no need for training.
