25 April 2006: Authentication specialist identrica today released a hardware two-factor authentication appliance combining the benefits of the company's fully managed service with the control and flexibility of an in-house installation.
CTO Doug McCracken comments: "We understand that some customers prefer to carry out their authentication on-site and under their direct control. Now we're able to provide that in the form of a single appliance, which will integrate seamlessly with their Active Directory management and their Citrix, SSL VPN or whatever access gateway they use."
The new hardware version provides the same operational and security benefits as the original managed service. All users need to do is make a short, unanswered - and therefore free - phone call as part of the log-on process, without tokens, smartcards, SMS messages or one-time-passwords. Implementation is simple and administration is minimal. The system provides robust, out-of-band two-factor autbentication use of the robust and trusted public telephone network, guaranteed availability across IP links and "out-of-band" authentication.
identrica's popular fully-managed service is available for customers who prefer to outsource the installation, administration and maintenance of their authentication system.
